What's Pasta Night? :
Pasta Night™ is Story Screen's celebration of VHS-era cinema, and it's now hosted at Story Screen Cinema in Hudson, NY! Each event showcases multiple fun creative vendors within the VHS & film community, offering awesome items for sale like comics, VHS, records, original artwork and much more! Our awesome friends at Sleepover Trading Co. have whipped up an amazing preshow filled with some truly awesome retro goodness, so be sure to show up early!
We'll also be whipping up affordable delicious pasta 🍝 and drink specials in addition to all of our usual movie concessions, plus special guest DJs and so much more! This all leads up to a movie screening on glorious VHS projected right onto the big screen! 📼 📼 📼

Film Synopsis:
Jack Spade (Keenen Ivory Wayans) comes home to the ghetto and finds his brother dead from a gold chain overdose. With the help of his hero, John Slade (Bernie Casey), and a team of washed-up crime fighters, Spade declares vengeance on Mr. Big (John Vernon), the white crime leader responsible for selling gold chains on the streets. But Spade realizes that he must take matters into his own hands to finish the job in this zany spoof of 1970s blaxploitation films.

Josiah Howard's "Blaxploitation Cinema: The Essential Reference Guide" (now in a 6th printing) is the go-to source on America's one and only black motion picture boom. And it's required Cinema Studies reading at more than 50 universities! Mr. Howard travels the world (Britain, Brasil, Poland, Prague, Netherlands, Germany, France) lecturing on the genre. The author of several best-selling popular culture books... including "Cher: Strong Enough" (5th printing), his writing credits include articles for The American Library of Congress, The New York Times, Readers Digest, and the entertainment periodicals Billboard, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. A graduate of New York University, Mr. Howard lives in New York City.
